European Solo GP Robin Capital Closes First Fund with 15 Million Euros to Invest

Former entrepreneur Robin Haak has successfully closed his Germany-based, solo GP-led venture capital fund, Robin Capital, at a final amount of €13 million. When combined with its additional growth-focused investment vehicle of €2 million, the fund now boasts a total of €15 million to invest in European B2B midmarket enterprise SaaS startups.

A Decent Figure for Solo GPs in Europe

In the world of venture capital, solo GPs (General Partners) are often seen as outliers. Unlike their U.S. counterparts, who typically raise significantly more funds, European solo GPs tend to raise less money. However, with a total of €15 million at its disposal, Robin Capital’s "Robin Fund One" is an impressive achievement in this space.

Targeting the DACH Region

Launched in 2023, Robin Capital focuses on investing in pre-seed and seed-stage startups within the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region. The fund targets companies operating across various sectors, including HR, AI, fintech, climate, DevOps, robotics, and industrial tech.

Portfolio Growth

Currently, 28 companies have joined Robin Capital’s portfolio, with half of the fund already being deployed into companies such as:

  • Kombo Dev (Germany): A digital transformation platform for mid-sized businesses.
  • Phacet Labs (France): An AI-powered data analytics company.

A Strong Track Record

With its impressive portfolio growth and commitment to investing in European B2B midmarket enterprise SaaS startups, Robin Capital is poised to make a significant impact in the venture capital landscape. Under Haak’s leadership, the fund has demonstrated a strong understanding of the market and a keen eye for identifying promising startups.

A Growing Trend

The success of Robin Capital highlights the growing trend of solo GPs in Europe raising larger funds to invest in high-growth startups. As the European venture capital landscape continues to evolve, it will be exciting to see how solo GPs like Haak shape the industry’s future.
